Ceilings no longer need to be boring white. Instead they can be painted and/or tiled. Decorative tiles are beautiful, affordable, & easy to install. They help with acoustics & can also help with heating & ventilation. These can be installed on both standard ceilings & drop ceilings. Make sure to provide sufficient under-protection so that any paint falling from above, as you apply the first layer on the ceiling, will not splatter & permanently mark or damage, or otherwise simply change the color of, anything underneath it.

A drop ceiling is a secondary ceiling that is hung below the main, structural ceiling. Ceiling tiles can be a great option because they are often fire resistant & are not too thick. Make your drop ceiling of tile, wood, or whatever you want, basically. Make sure it's structurally sound, thick enough & supportive enough, of the main ceiling, overall. Have an expert install it for you if it's your first time.

Also, have you sketched & measured your ceiling, with a ceiling grid sketch, perhaps? This helps you properly position that grid, first of all. & after that, you can better add on each material that's needed.

Some people have small ceiling jobs, some have larger ceiling projects & some ceilings take the cake!

Singapore's sport stadium, developed in Kallang in 2015. The national stadium seats over 50,000 people under a retractable dome roof of 1017 feet & is constructed with ultra-thin steel that provides structural support & weighs less than 9000 tons. The roof converts into a projector screen with up to 3000 LED lights making it one of the “Largest addressable LED screens in the world.” according to the designer Arup.

Colorado is home to the world's largest-self-supporting Log Ceiling, consisting of 627 logs which span across more than 60 feet in length. Weighing over 40 tons, it is one of the main features of the Koshare Museum. Built in 1949 the task was deemed impossible for an architect to achieve but it's creator Damon Runyon, along with three contractors & an engineer whom helped design the golden gate bridge, solved his ceiling challenge.

Bringing an architect's dream to life takes skill & an inner creative mind. To bring out a masterpiece like the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis it took a Polish immigrant named Jan Henryk de Rosen, who designed the astounding cathedral's mosaics in 1912. The ceiling mosaic covers 83,000 square feet & consists of 41.5 million glass tesserae pieces in more than 7000 colors!

    What causes sagging ceiling tiles?

If you've noticed that your ceiling tiles are sagging, that water is the likely culprit. Water seepage causes spots or marks on your ceiling that can lead to molds growth, which causes the loosening of your ceiling tiles & eventually makes them sag.
