A garbage disposal will reduce the kitchen trash that you produce along with making kitchen cleanup quicker and more efficient. It is also good for the environment because it is reduce the garbage in the kitchen because all you food scraps and leftovers will go into the disposal. Shopping for a garbage disposal can prove to be a difficult task with many systems to choose from, here are the 5 that I reviewed:

They incorporated a technology that grinds most food particles.  This product offers an automatic detection that will keep you disposal in top working condition avoiding jams.  The MASTERPLUMBER EXCEL runs quietly because they integrated insulation and vibration controls.  This appliance has a 7 year in home warranty.
GE GFC320VFour stars out of five The GE GFC320V This appliance is powerful and durable with a large capacity.  Manufactured of Stainless Steel which contributes to its durability.   The blades that are designed not to jam, and runs quieter than most disposals. Although GE it boasts easy installation, you may need to hire a professional to install.  Rarely, pieces of the unit may come loose and fall into your pipes.  If certain parts break they cannot be replaced, and you would have to purchase a new unit. It is also recommended for small families.  This appliance has a 1 year warranty.
InSinkErator Badger 1Three and a half out of five stars InSinkErator Badger 1 This budget model does not have all the bells and whistles as some models, but does a good job as long as you know it will have difficulty with hard items like chicken bones and corn husks.  Water consumption with model is very economical but it uses more electric than most units. Tends to be noisy because it is not as well insulated as other models on the market. Overall, a good purchase for the price, with as 1 year warranty.
Waste King L-2600 Legend SeriesFour and a half stars out of five Waste King L-2600 Legend Series Best Bang for the Buck The Anaheim Manufacturing Company, also known as Waste King, is headquartered in the USA, they are a world leader both domestically and internationally.  All their products are manufactured here in the US. Powerful, efficient and quiet this device comers with a 5 year in-home warranty with no exceptions.  Any mechanical or material defect will be covered for 5 years from the date of purchase.  The durable stainless steel blades will not rust along with minimizing any jamming. The downside of this product is, it does not fit certain cast iron sinks, you would have to purchase another Waste King disposal.
KitchenAid Continuous Feed SuperbaFour stars out of five KitchenAid Continuous Feed Superba Similar to other KitchenAid models this unit is powerful and efficient with the added feature of quiet.  The use of Sound Seal technology enables this disposal to operate 40% quieter than other disposals.  This technology causes the collar could make it difficult to feed the waste. With the two-stage grinding the hardest food items will get ground. This disposal is slightly larger than most, but should fit under most sinks.
